Ceramic Spray Coating

A solvent-free, ceramic-reinforced, two-component epoxy coating

A ceramic spray coating protects metal surfaces from abrasive or corrosive stress

Typical applications are coatings:

  • for repairing and protecting heat exchangers and condensers
  • for lining tanks and slides
  • on valve bodies or pump housings and impellers
  • and many other applications.

The particularly hard and smooth surface prevents product adhesion and facilitates transport and emptying processes. Friction and turbulence are reduced.

The application is carried out using the cartridge spray process by our specially trained and experienced staff. This application technology enables us to achieve high surface performance and reproducibility of the surface quality, as well as short repair times.

When cured, the material system has a Shore hardness of over 86 D and a compressive strength of 106 N/mm².
A WRAS drinking water approval expands the application area of this surface protection system.

When applied in two layers, the layer thickness is only 500 µm. Curing takes place at room temperature, so no tempering of the processed component is necessary. After 4.0 hours we already achieve a touch-proof, dry surface. A higher ambient and component temperature accelerates this process.

Ceramic spray coating also proves itself at high surface and system temperatures. The material system is suitable for process temperatures between -30° C and +95° C.

It has a high chemical resistance to aggressive media such as acids, alkalis and solvents.

As a modified epoxy resin, ceramic spray coating can be repaired with little effort if necessary.

Application examples

Ceramic spray coating wear protection on rotary valve

These images show a rotary valve for dosing a fibrous, sticky rapeseed-hexane mixture protected with ceramic spray coating.

The application of ceramic spray coating makes it possible to avoid wear and product adhesion and thus exclude blockages and errors in the dosing process of the customer's system.

Ceramic spray coating wear protection on excavator buckets

In this particular example, ceramic spray coating made it possible to avoid product adhesion in the bucket as well as the occurrence of wear and corrosion.
The transport performance, efficiency and durability of the components could be sustainably improved with our coating solution.

Ceramic spray coating applied to train wagons

Material adhesion leads to a reduction in transport volume and to an increased load on the hydraulic, pneumatic tipping and braking system of the entire train. Coating the surface with our ceramic spray coating solution solved the caking issue our customer had.
